A hard-to-find piece, this blue & white English Spode lidded canister or biscuit jar in the blue “Italian” pattern has a graceful, unusual shape and beautiful designs in cobalt blue. The lid has been repaired at some point, but still has the intact, original gasket seal. The lid is unique because it sit under the rim of the jar rather than covering the entire top, as with typical lidded jars (such as ginger jars). This jar dates from 1996, (see the “V” mark on the bottom), and was made in England. A charming addition to your kitchen décor or to any blue-and-white display collection.
