Spode Blue Italian 12-Piece Dinnerware Set Service for 4 Dinner Plate, Salad
Posted on December 25, 2022 | By admin
Spode Blue Italian was made possible by Josiah Spode’s perfection of blue under-glaze printing in 1784. This collection is a tapestry of blue scene’s and figure’s. Today we have an extensive collection of microwave and dishwasher safe dinnerware, giftware and accessories. This 12 piece set contains 4 each Dinner Plate, Salad Plate and Mug. The Dinner and Salad Plates are manufactured from the UK, the mugs from China. Introduced in 1816, Spode’s Blue Italian dinnerware is a classic that has remained popular among collectors and diners throughout the centuries. This 12-piece set is ideal for daily dining that are all dishwasher- and microwave-safe. Referred to as “transferware, ” the elaborate pattern is engraved by hand onto copper plates and then transferred onto the ceramic by skilled artisans using blue underglaze–a process that was perfected back in 1784 but is still carried out today at the original Spode factory in England. Influenced by a ink and wash drawing from the 17th century, Blue Italian pictures Roman ruins within a pastoral setting in the center of the dinner and salad plates and around the exterior of the mugs. A fantastic floral border on the rims of the gently scalloped plates and the handles of the mugs shows influences from early Chinese porcelain designs. Made of high-quality glazed earthenware, this place setting is delicate in appearance but has been updated to meet today’s standards of durability. A varied assortment of dinnerware and home d? Cor items in the Blue Italian pattern is also available to complete a collection. Beyond Beautiful & Beautifully British. Our extensive, eclectic and imaginative tableware, cookware, textile and gifting collections ensures you are absolutely brimming with ideas and inspiration. An integral part of a cup or mug, we produce thousands of handles each day. Paying attention to the little details, each handle is cast, trimmed and cut with exact precision so that it fits onto the curve of the cup or mug perfectly. It is attached with great care using liquid clay to ensure its longevity. We use a rock hard, clear glaze to showcase the beauty of the ware. The glass is applied either by machine spraying or by hand, a highly skilled technique that involves dipping the ware into a vat of glaze and shaking the right amount of excess glaze from the piece. For shapely pieces, the decoration is applied by hand by our experienced and talented lithographers. The transfer is moistened and applied to a piece with exacting precision. It is then stretched and massaged onto the ware to ensure it sits beautifully against the piece. At every stage and by every person, our products are checked for quality. The final quality check is undertaken by our Selectors. With a keen attention to detail, they study the piece to ensure it meets our leading quality standards. Not only do the look and feel the product, they use a specially crafted tool to listen to the product to ensure it makes the right’ting’ sound. Blue Italian, the beautiful blue and white collection for which Spode is famous for, was launched in 1816 and has been in production ever since. The stunning Blue Italian collection features a finely detailed 18th century Imari Oriental border encompassing a scene inspired by the Italian countryside. Our talented crafts men and women have a real passion for creating unique and quality products and it’s with a focus on design that we create high quality tableware, cookware, giftware, and tabletop accessories from our studio and factory in Stoke-on-Trent, England. Designed by Sophie Conran, each piece is beautifully tactile, having the look of being hand-thrown. With Sophies philosophy that every day should be a beautiful day, the collection is both versatile and practical the jugs morph into vases and roasting dishes take center stage on the table. As well as creating elegant dinner parties and relaxed breakfasts, the Sophie Conran for Portmeirion collection moves with ease from the dishwasher to the microwave, the freezer to the oven. A true British classic, Botanic Garden was designed by the celebrated designer Susan Williams-Ellis using early 19th century illustrations as her inspiration. Botanic Gardens delightful mixture of floral motifs and signature leaf border set a new trend for casual dining when introduced in 1972 and is just as stylish today. Introduced in the US in the 1990’s, Woodland’s designs are rooted in the traditions of hunting for game and its elaborate presentation on the table. Central to the charm of the pattern are the striking studies of different animals framed by the British Flowers border which dates back to 1831. Loved for its nostalgia and warm recollections of Christmases past, Christmas Tree is one of the world’s best known holiday designs since its introduction in 1938. Each season sees wonderful new introductions for collectors both old and new. Christmas Tree adds a distinctive charm to every table – celebrating traditions and creating memories.
